A federal agent accused of killing a Kailua man was back in court Friday.

Christopher Deedy is facing a charge of murder in the second degree for fatally shooting 23-year-old Kollin Elderts in 2011.

At the time, Deedy was in Honolulu on state department business for the APEC conference.

A hearing to prepare for jury selection started on Friday. That will be followed by the actual jury selection, and a trial soon after.
