All of the Hawaii Air National Guard’s F-22 raptor fighter jets have been declared fully operational.
They demonstrated that by performing 46 test missions yesterday using all 14 of the guard’s available aircraft.
“For us to be putting out that many airplanes in the air for one day is a significant event and I’m proud of that,” said Lt. Col. Rob Jackson, 19th Fighter Commander.
“That is one of our nation’s defense strategy, is to continue to provide, deterrent factor here in the Pacific region as well as additionally adding stability I the region,” said Lt. Col. Mark Ladtkow, 199th Fighter Squadron Commander.
The guard said the tests were scheduled before the rising tensions with North Korea began.
