An Oahu principal has helped his students get millions of dollars in college scholarships. For that, Waipahu High School principal Keith Hayashi has been named an excellent leader.

Hayashi won the Masayuki Tokioka Excellence in School Leadership award.

He gets $25,000 and plans to use more of the money to develop an aquaponics system at his school.

Hayashi was honored for creating a college-ready program to help students and parents apply for scholarships.
