Bill to get rid of land development agency heads to governor’s office

4-15 PLDC

Lawmakers want to get rid of a controversial agency.

The house unanimously passed a bill today to repeal the Public Land Development Corporation or the PLDC.

It was set up to develop state land through private-public partnerships.

But critics say the organization has too much much power to develop Hawaii’s lands.

The bill now heads to the governor’s office.
