Board of Water Supply crews are trying to clean up a muddy mess after a water main break in Makaha.
This is what it looked like on Kili drive at about 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
A viewer captured a geyser and a river of water rushing down the road.
The board of water supply says a 16-inch main broke just off the roadway.
Kili drive re-opened after being closed for some time.
We’re told all of the 500 residents at the Makaha Valley Plantation are without water.
“I did, the gentleman with the foreign accent telling his wife maybe we should go back and get some water and put it our containers,” said Vincent Kennedy, Makaha Valley resident. “I did the same. So I have some water.”
Work to fix the water main is expected to continue into the night and on Sunday.
