Dean & DeLuca coming to Hawaii

Dean & DeLuca

The state’s first Dean & DeLuca store will open in Waikiki.

The New York-based gourmet market will be part of the new Ritz-Carlton Residences.

A blessing was held Wednesday morning at the sales office.

The project has been in the planning for about four years.

“We spent a lot of time with the city, different officials with the city, the mayor’s office, making sure that this project was right for Waikiki. It would bring jobs, would bring a lot of tax revenue for the city and will definitely bring a lot of room rental nights,” PACREP manager Jason Grosfeld said.

Construction will begin later this year and the building will be completed in 2016.

Prices for the units range from $500,000 to $15 million for the penthouse.
