Display of slippers raises awareness for child abuse

You may recall two weeks ago more than 5,000 pinwheels put on the State Capitol lawn to represent all the reports made to child protective services in a year.

And now here’s another display all part of child abuse awareness prevention month.

All these slippers represent the kids who go through the Children’s Justice Center of Oahu Every year about 500 to 1000 kids in all.

The Leahi soccer players helped collect the slippers.

They’ll be donated to the Institute for Human Services.
