The forecast for the National Weather Service looks a little gloomy.

Budget cuts may soon cause furloughs for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration agencies.

NOAA was forced to cut their budget by seven percent this year.

Nearly 12,000 employees will be asked to take four unpaid days off in July and August, including employees in Hawaii at the National Weather Service and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
