Maui firefighters put out ice cream truck fire

Maui firefighters responded to an ice cream delivery truck fire in Lahaina Monday morning.

Officials say the fire broke just before 6 a.m. about a quarter-mile south of Launiupoko Park.

When firefighters arrived to the scene, they found the delivery truck fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters brought the flames under control at about 6:30 a.m. The fire was extinguished just before 7 a.m.

No injuries were reported.

Honoapiilani Highway was partially closed with alternating traffic at 6 a.m. The highway was reopened to traffic just after 7 a.m.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
