The fate of an Oahu man accused of killing a woman during a freeway shooting rampage is now in the hands of a jury.
Toby Stangel sat in the court room as lawyers presented closing arguments Tuesday afternoon.
The defense claimed the state didn’t present enough evidence.
But the state said there’s no question who did it.
“Shooting six times, shooting 11 times, two times. The defendant intended to cause death,” said Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Dwight Nadmoto.
“If you had actual evidence of his state of mind, if he was mad at someone, if he was mad at them, you would have something to go on,” said John Schum, Stangel’s attorney.
Stangel is accused of killing one woman and injuring two others in the 2011 shooting.
If convicted he faces life in prison.
