HART seeking artists to design rail stations

Calling all artists!

The Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART) is looking for artists to design each of their 21 rail stations.

They would like each station to reflect Hawaii’s culture and diversity with each station being unique to that particular neighborhood.

There has been $5 million has been set aside to help create this art and pay the artists chosen whose designs are used.

Applications for the transit art program can be submitted between May 14 and June 20.

To download submittal requirements and other information regarding the transit art program, log onto http://www.honolulu.gov/pur go to “professional services” or at www.callforentry.org.

A pre-submittal workshop for interested applicants will be held Saturday, June 1 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the HART offices at Ali`i Place, 1099 Alakea St., Suite 150.
