Traffic was a mess in the Halawa area Thursday night.
At about 5 p.m., a trucking company carrying gas cylinders lost its load on Halawa Valley Street.
The gas wasn’t a danger to the public, but crews had to be careful loading the cylinders back onto the truck.
“The danger is the cylinders could have a shearing of valve and cause the pressure to release, perhaps create a projectile,” Honolulu Fire Department Capt. Terry Seelig said.
Halawa Valley Street was closed between the animal quarantine facility and cement plant.
The area has since been reopened.
