City needs more lei for Memorial Day

Memorial Day

Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be placing lei on the graves of our fallen service members on Sunday.

It’s a Memorial Day tradition here in Hawaii.

The city was hoping to collect at least 50,000 lei.

Donations poured in Saturday and they’re now only about a couple thousand short.

If you want to help out, you can drop off lei until noon Sunday at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl.

The lei will be placed on the graves at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl and at the state Veteran’s Cemetery in Kaneohe.
