The family of Jamal Morris has remained silent until now.
Morris is the man accused of trying to set a man on fire last week then attacking another man a few days later.
Morris’ sister released a statement Saturday on behalf of her family which says in part.
“First and foremost, we would like to offer our sincerest apologies to both victims, their families and the community. It is important to acknowledge Jamal did not choose to get sick and his future should not be sacrificed,” Morris’ sister said.
She also says that her brother was taken out of the Hawaii State Hospital Friday and was moved back to OCCC.
Morris’ family is object to Morris being moved back to OCCC saying that he is mentally ill and needs help.
