The 15th annual Lantern Floating Hawaii ceremony is expected to draw tens of thousands of people to Magic Island on Monday.
More than 5,000 candlelit lanterns will be set afloat off Magic Island in remembrance of loved ones.
The ceremony begins at 6 p.m.
Those wanting to personally float a lantern may receive one at the request tent on Monday on a first-come, first-served basis.
Event organizers want to let the public know about several traffic changes in the area:
- The Magic Island parking lot will be closed to the public on Monday, May 27 from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Ala Moana Boulevard from Piikoi Street to Atkinson Drive will be a “no parking tow away” zone from 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Monday.
