An endangered Hawaiian Hawk that was wounded by a pellet gun has made a full recovery on the Big Island.
The Three Ring Ranch animal sanctuary was taking care of the bird after it was brought in April.
The bird had a bullet lodged in its chest. But after surgery and rehab, the hawk was released on Monday.
It was the second wounded hawk that was found in a matter of weeks on the Big Island.
Both were apparently shot by a pellet gun, which is illegal.
