Honolulu firefighters retrieve body from Pali lookout

Honolulu Police and the Honolulu Fire Department were called to the Pali lookout Tuesday morning after the body of an adult male was found.

Firefighters used a helicopter to locate the body found below the lookout.

Due to bad weather, firefighters used a rope system to retrieve the body at about 10 a.m.

“This is most likely related to a case that the police have opened on a missing person, however, nothing can be confirmed as far as identity of manner of death,” Honolulu Fire Capt. Terry Seelig said.

The lookout was closed for about two-and-half-hours while fire and police crews retrieved the body.
