NTSB releases report on downtown Honolulu helicopter crash

A preliminary report was released on the helicopter that crash-landed in downtown Honolulu earlier in May.

The National Transportation Safety Board says the chopper departed Honolulu as planned and completed two orbits around the Punchbowl area.

The report stated that engine suddenly lost power while maneuvering at about 3,000 feet. A warning light came on followed by a horn.

According to the NTSB, the pilot chose Fort Street as the best place to land since there were no wires in the flight path.

The chopper touched down and skidded into a parked car.

There were no serious injuries.
