Dozens of swimmers stung by box jellyfish along east and south shores

Ocean Safety officials say more than 100 box jellyfish found in Waikiki, of which more than 50 found at Ala Moana and about a handful found along Hanauma Bay.

Officials say the count decreased by Sunday afternoon.

They say total of 36 found in Waikiki with 55 people getting stung. Total of four were found in Ala Moana with four people getting stung.

Sunday was the first day of the influx and officials say the influx usually lasts three days.

Signs are posted at affected beaches.
