Power restored to McCully residents after outage

More than a thousand customers in the McCully area experienced a power outage on Tuesday.

According to the Hawaiian Electric, the outage was reported at 10:15 p.m. affecting 1,800 customers.

The outage was caused by a metallic balloon which was found in power lines near the intersection of Beretania and McCully Streets.

A HECO troubleshooter removed the metallic balloon and power was restored to all affected customers at about 11:15 p.m.
