Police looking for suspect in attempted sex assault case

Honolulu Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for attempted sexual assault in the first degree.

The incident happened at about 3 a.m. Thursday on Wilder Avenue near Keeaumoku Street.

Police say the victim was riding her bicycle to a friend’s house and stopped on Wilder Avenue. While stopped, a male approached her, pushed her off the bicycle, and attempted to sexually assault her.

The victim was able to fend off the suspect. He fled on foot on Keeaumoku Street.

Suspect’s description:

  • Age: 20s
  • Height: 5’7″ to 5’8″
  • Weight: 170 to 180 pounds
  • Hair: Brown, wavy, shoulder length
  • Eyes: Brown
  • Clothing: Light green hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored shirt, baggy long denim pants
