Honolulu Police say the accident happened around 8 o’clock Saturday evening on Waianae Valley Road.
A 33 year-old man driving a moped hit a stray dog and then a vehicle.
He was taken to Queen’s Medical Center in critical condition.
One resident says, cars and mopeds speed up and down Waianae Valley Road all the time.
“I’m sorry and I hope he recovers and everything and I hate to see them get hurt that bad but they got to learn you have to have the safety equipment and you can’t speed on these roads you know people pull out in front of you and you have no warning you know,” resident, Gwenie Gouveia said.
Police are still investigating whether speed was a factor in this crash.
They’re also investigating whether alcohol or drugs were factors.
