Olympic gold medalist and Castle High School graduate Bryan Clay is back home in the islands.

On Sunday night, he spoke to student athletes at the Hawaii High School Athletic Association’s annual Hall of Honor banquet.

Twelve Hawaii high school seniors were inducted into the Hall of Honor.

Clay, who won the gold medal in the decathlon at the 2008 summer Olympics, shared his tips for success.

“If you guys can do those things: Have a strong foundation, get focused, plan, surround yourselves with good people, you guys are going to do amazing, amazing things out there, I promise you,” Clay said.

The Hall of Honor recipients also received a $2,000 college scholarship.
