Noise Advisory: Schofield training exercises being held through June 21

Training Exercises

Residents near Schofield Barracks may experience an increase in noise.

The Marine Corps and the Hawaii Army National Guard will conduct field artillery training exercises from June 10 to 21 between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The Marines will conduct their field artillery training exercise from June 10 to 14 and the Guardsmen will conduct their field artillery training exercise from June 11 to 21.

The effects of training vary depending on weather conditions. Overcast conditions may increase noise and vibrations.

Smoke may be visible for a short time; however, there is no immediate danger.

The military services in Hawaii appreciate the community’s understanding and continued support of local service members and families.

While sometimes loud, the sounds of training represent how the military ensures the nation’s service members are ready to accomplish the mission and return home safely.

To report concerns related to noise or training, community members can call the U.S. Army Garrison-Hawaii (USAG-HI) Noise Concern Line at (808) 656-3487.

The USAG-HI Public Affairs Office responds to all reported concerns during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
