Maui fire officials say the cane fires were intentionally set within an hour of each other Thursday night and early into Friday morning.
They say the first fire started just before 11 p.m. in Waikapu off Honoapiilani highway.
Four acres of crops were damaged in the first fire.
The second fire started less than an hour later at 11:44 p.m. on Pulehu Road about a mile above the landfill, destroying one acre of crops.
The third fire started about a half hour later on Kuihelani highway about 200 yards east of Maui Lani Parkway intersection.
Officials say damage estimates to about 9 acres of crops total $45,000.
