Honolulu police caught a suspected auto thief and recovered a stolen car Friday afternoon.
The car ended up crashing into the curb at the corner of Nimitz Highway and Libby street in Kalihi.
It had been reported stolen from a Salt Lake condominium around 4:30 p.m. Friday.
The car was found 20 minutes later.
“Our undercover units spotted the vehicle and the male fled down Nimitz and crossed over the median and ended up here. Then he ran away on foot,” said Honolulu Police Department Sgt. Harry Burt.
Police found the suspect hiding under an SUV at a nearby apartment building.
