Power restored to Kahala customers after motorcycle hits utility pole

Nearly 200 customers in the Kahala area were without power after a motorcycle crashed into a utility pole.

The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. Monday on Kolohana Street.

According to Hawaiian Electric Company, 175 residents were initially affected.

By 1 a.m. Tuesday, HECO crews restored power to approximately 150 customers.

Power was restored to all customers by 11:40 a.m. Tuesday.
