Traffic delays are expected on the H-1 Freeway in both directions as crews will be conducting viaduct survey and repair this week.
According to the Department of Transportation, the road work started on Tuesday, but traffic slowed down more than expected.
Many soccer teams were heading in the Ewa-bound direction for the U.S. Youth Soccer Far West Regional Tournament held at Waipio Soccer Complex and requested for a reschedule in order to get to games on time.
As a result, the DOT changed the road work hours.
From Wednesday to Friday between 6 p.m. and 4:30 a.m., three left lanes on the H-1 Freeway eastbound will be closed between the H-1/H-2 merge and the Pearlridge/Waimalu off-ramp for viaduct deck repairs.
For H-1 Freeway westbound, two right lanes will be closed between the Kaonohi Street overpass and Waipahu off-ramp from Wednesday to Friday from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for viaduct deck surveys.
Two left lanes will be closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Waiawa Road Overpass on Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for viaduct deck repairs.
