Hawaii families to receive insurance rebates

KHON2 News

Some Hawaii residents will soon receive a check in the mail thanks to the Affordable Care Act.

The act requires insurers to spend at least 80 cents of every premium dollar on patient care. If they spend more than that, they are required to pay back the difference no later than Aug. 1.

More than 39,000 residents will receive rebates averaging $59 per family.
