The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office has released the autopsy results for a woman who was found near Yokohama Bay last month.

A medical examiner says 28-year-old Ivanice “Ivy” Harris died from an injury to the neck. Her death was ruled as a homicide and a toxicology report showed traces of marijuana in her system.

Harris was in Hawaii with friends to celebrate her 29th birthday.

She was last seen on May 16 outside of a Waikiki bar. Her body was found four days later near Yokohama Bay.

On June 5, Honolulu Police arrested 38-year-old Nathaniel Cosby, an active-duty Marine, on suspicion of murder.

Officials say Cosby is a Master Sergeant based at an air station in Japan, but was on temporary duty assignment in Hawaii.

Police released Cosby on June 7 since charges were not made within 48 hours of his arrest.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is taking over the case.

The military says Cosby is being held at a brig as it investigates.
