A group of six hikers are spending the night on the Koolau Ridge Trail.
One of them called the Honolulu Fire Department when the group got lost around 6 p.m. Saturday.
They started out at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pupukea Summit Trail. They made it to the summit and moved on to Koolau Ridge Trail before getting lost.
HFD was not able to rescue the hikers because of the cloud cover and gusty winds.
The fire department suspended the search at 7:10 p.m.
The hikers are between 17 and 21-years-old. No one is injured.
According to fire officials the hikers were prepared and they did have clothing, food and water with them.
HFD will resume rescue efforts at 6 a.m. Sunday.
