Big Island police are warning the public about a company recently selling magazines door-to-door.

According to police, the salesperson says they are selling the magazines to benefit a local high school, to earn points for college, or for cancer research. The salesperson then obtains personal information from the buyers and uses the information fraudulently.

Police say the magazines that the buyers order never arrive.

Some of the names the company is using include Frontline Communications, LLC, HP Consulting, and MD Network.

Authorities say they originated in Colorado, where they have been fined $1 million.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police department’s non-emergency hotline at (808) 935-3311.
