A recent safety crackdown by Honolulu Police in the last three days resulted in officers issuing hundreds of tickets across Oahu.
From Monday to Wednesday, the HPD’s traffic division issued a total of 385 citations. Of those citations, 157 were for seat belt violations.
Hawaii’s new law states everyone in the car must wear a seat belt, including in the back seat.
Not wearing a seatbelt could result in a $92 fine.
In the last three days, police also issued 117 citations for cell phone violations.
