A possible spearfishing ban in the waters of West Hawaii has fishermen worried it could have far-reaching effects.
The Board of Land and Natural Resources is scheduled to vote on a number of rules Friday, including one that would ban spearfishing by fishermen diving with scuba gear.
If approved, the ban would be in place for the west coast of the island of Hawaii.
The purpose of the ban is to better manage marine resources.
