There are rules for getting a place early at Ala Moana Beach Park for the July 4 celebrations.
On the night before July 4, there can be up to two people staying overnight to hold a spot at the park. You will be able to set up canopies at each picnic site.
Alcohol, fireworks, pets, and tents are not allowed in the park.
All vehicles must leave the park by 10 p.m. on July 3. Any vehicles left in the park after 10 p.m. will be towed.
The park will reopen to cars at 4 a.m. on July 4. The Honolulu Police Department asks that you do not park or line up on Ala Moana Boulevard before this time and officers will ask you to move.
