BOE welcomes new student representative

Jannah Dela Cruz who will be a senior at Moanalua High School this fall, was sworn in by Hawaii Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald at Tuesday’s meeting.

Dela Cruz, who has been involved with student government since elementary school, said her leadership experiences have shown her the collaborative effort that is needed to make change.

She holds a 3.9 cumulative grade point average and is also active in the school orchestra.

With her full plate of activities, Dela Cruz says she lives by the motto: “early is on time, and on time is late.”

The State Level Selection Committee interviewed the semifinalist sent by the districts and selected Dela Cruz.
