HPD announces park rules for Fourth of July celebration at Ala Moana

Ala Moana Beach Park

The Fourth of July is just two days away and if you’re looking to head down to Ala Moana beach park to watch the fireworks show, you should be aware of the rules.

Police say on the night before, you can have up to two people stay overnight to hold your spot at the park.

They say you can’t leave your car at Ala Moana beach park overnight.

The park will reopen to cars at 4 a.m. on July 4th.

Police say alcohol, tents, fireworks and pets are not allowed in the park.

“Whoever gets their stalls, gets those stalls. Do not to park in half a stall. We ask them to please park within the stalls. If not we will be forced to take enforcement action,” Honolulu Police Department Lt. Dee Ann Koanui said.

About 50,000 people are expected to celebrate Fourth of July at Ala Moana.
