Kauai police recover body in vacant lot

Kauai Police recovered the body of a 37-year-old male in a vacant lot along Ahukini Road in Lihue Tuesday morning.

Police identified the man as Lancelot Johnson.

Officials believe Johnson was homeless and living in the grassy area where his body was located, near the cane haul road next to Wal-Mart.

His body was located by a field worker of the company that leases the property.

Johnson’s death remains under investigation, but police do not suspect foul play.

An autopsy is scheduled for early next week.
