This is an update to a story KHON2 reported on Saturday.

The Department of Land and Natural Resources retrieved a boat Sunday from Malaekahana Beach in Laie.

It was reported as possible Japan tsunami debris on Friday.

DLNR officials say they still don’t know if it’s Japan tsunami debris but they’re working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and Japanese officials to find the boat’s owner using the ID number.
