Hawaiian Airlines‘ first flight to Taipei, Taiwan will take off Monday night.
The new service will operate three times a week using the carrier’s new 294-seat, wide-body airbus. It will also be the only non-stop service between Honolulu and Taipei.
The airline is capitalizing on the government’s visa waiver program, which allows visa-free travel to the United States for eligible travelers visiting for 90 days or less for business or tourism.
The Hawaii Tourism Authority expects the number of visitors from Taiwan to continue to grow because of the waiver.
