TheBus drivers union approves 5-year contract

The city’s bus drivers will get increases to their pay and pension after the union approved a new five-year contract with Oahu Transit Services, the agency that runs TheBus.

It goes into effect immediately.

The new deal calls for a 6.4 percent increase in pay over five years and a 17 percent increase in pension contributions over the length of the new contract.

The deal covers about 1,300 Oahu Transit Services employees who work as bus drivers, maintenance people, and administrators.
