Maui police responded to a traffic accident in Kahului Saturday morning involving a large semi-trailer.
The incident happened shortly before 9 a.m. on Kaahumanu and Puunene Avenues.
Police say the trailer, owned by Tri-Isle Truck Company, rolled forward and came to rest along the shoulder of Kaahumanu Avenue, but did not tip over. The trailer came to rest at a 45-degree angle against several trees.
Police closed the two outside lanes in the westbound direction for about a half hour while crews used a crane to re-attach the trailer to the semi-truck.
No injuries were reported and the container was slightly damaged.
At this time, it is not clear how the container got loose.
