UPDATE:  Coast Guard suspends search for missing diver off Kahe Point

The Coast Guard is continuing its search for a possible missing diver off of Kahe Point Electric Beach Monday.

The Guard says the passenger vessel Kai Oli Oli recovered an orange dive float and flag approximately 100 yards off Electric Beach Sunday.

The dive float is marked in black lettering with its brand name, Hawaii Blue. It was not anchored.

The Coast Guard says the Kai Oli Oli monitored the area and could not find anybody in trouble.

A helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Barbers Point is searching the area in coordination with Ocean Safety.

The Coast Guard is asking mariners in the area of Kahe Point Electric Beach to keep a sharp eye out for anyone possibly in distress.

The public is advised to label all watercraft and equipment with contact information in order to quickly account for owners and prevent any unnecessary searches.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Sector Honolulu Command Center at (808) 842-2600.
