Water gushed onto Farrington Highway after a vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant.

Honolulu police say the incident happened shortly after 5:30 p.m. Wednesday when the vehicle crashed into the fire hydrant and drove off with it.

The hydrant was later found a mile away in the parking lot of the Nanakuli Sack N Save.

Police say the driver fled the scene.

At this time, no arrests have been made.

The hydrant was returned to the Board of Water Supply.
