The Centers for Disease Control says people are likely to live a longer, healthier life if they live in Hawaii.
The CDC report is the first time the agency looked at each state to find out how long 65-year-olds can expect to live and how many of those remaining years will be healthy ones.
Total life expectancy was the highest in Hawaii.
Adults are expected to live another 20 years after they turn 65, and a good chunk of those years should be healthy.
The report says 65-year-olds living in the southern U.S. have fewer healthy years of life ahead of them compared to other parts of the U.S.
The report ranks Mississippi on the bottom.
