A man in his 20s is in critical condition after he was struck by a trolley near Ward Centers Thursday.
The incident happened just before 11 p.m. at the intersection of Ala Moana Boulevard and Kamakee Street.
According to Honolulu police, the pedestrian was crossing the intersection in the mauka direction, when he was struck by the trolley traveling westbound on Ala Moana Boulevard.
Emergency personnel responded and transported the victim to the Queen’s Medical Center.
The driver of the trolley was not injured.
Police do not believe the driver was speeding or under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Honolulu police closed a portion of Ala Moana Boulevard between Kamakee and Auahi Streets while they investigated.
All lanes were reopened at about 1:40 a.m. Friday.
The case remains under investigation.
