Fire causes $1M in damage to Maui building

A structure fire caused an estimated $1 million in damage to a building in Kahului Monday morning.

The fire broke shortly before 6:30 a.m. in a building on South Wakea Avenue.

The building was the former Maui Pine Offices. The building was purchased by Easter Seals and was undergoing renovations.

The fire was under control at about 9:30 a.m. and extinguished shortly before noon.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
