Walgreens will undergo a major expansion. The planned build-out to 35,000 square feet includes more floors and makes room for a three level parking garage with 92 stalls.
Construction at the Keeaumoku Street site could start in December, and last for about a year.
“This will be a union project. All workers will be union on this project. We have gone through the archeological survey for this property. It has been completed. No remains were found,” said Bob Legler, DCK Pacific.
There were also concerns about pedestrian safety. The construction company plans to build high walls around the site and cover the sidewalks. The company also plans to have a security guard on-site.
