Hawaii County Civil Defense prepares for Flossie

Hawaii County Civil Defense also met this afternoon to make sure all emergency crews on the island are ready to go.

“We’ve also been contacting with in coordination with our public works, state highways, and environmental management officers, the various private contractors in the community,” Hawaii County Civil Defense Darryl Oliveira said. “We’re just asking for availability should we be affected by the storm, with assistance and resources with debris cleanup, if we do have any flooding issues as well as trees and power lines have gone down.”
