Maui firefighters rescue injured hiker from Twin Falls

A 52-year-old woman was rescued from the pool called “Caveman” in Haiku-Pauwela Tuesday night.

The incident happened just after 4 p.m. at Twin Falls.

According to officials, the woman was found lying in the water when rescue crews arrived on the scene. Her friend told firefighters that she jumped approximately 30 inches into the pond and landed on her back in the water. The woman did not hit any rocks or did not lose consciousness.

The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The woman was a visitor from Whitehall, Maryland.
